Playwright
Published writing credits: The Alternative (Fishamble’s ‘A Play For Ireland’, winner of two Irish Times Theatre Awards and nominated for Best New Play), and My Left Nut (‘Show In a Bag’ and BBC Three series). Oisín localised Willy Russell’s Educating Rita and Shirley Valentine to Belfast for the Lyric Theatre, and was resident Assistant Director from 2019-20. He and Mick are currently under commission with Prime Cut Productions for their third play.
Filmmaker
Oisín works as a filmmaker and has directed several documentaries, including All For Show (BBC NI True North), Bbeyond (BBC Arts Show), Borderlands and Unfinished Revolution (De Correspondent, NPO2). Assistant Producer 66 DAYS (BBC Storyville), Emmy-nominated ELIÁN (CNN Films). His first feature as Director BOJAYÁ: Caught In The Crossfire (Aljazeera) premiered at Hot Docs Film Festival 2019.
Oisín directed his first funded fiction short film in 2023. SLAY & PREPARE was funded through Short Circuit’s Sharp Shorts programme, and stars Michelle Duncan, Dougray Scott, and Robin Laing.
